Summary:
Since 2013, all fatal and non-fatal acute myocardial infarctions of the city of Halle and the region of the Altmark have been registered in the “regional register of heart attacks in Saxony-Anhalt (RHESA)”. This register will now continue in a modified form as “electronic register of heart diseases in Saxony-Anhalt (eRHESA)”. Gradually, further regions will be included in the register and a digital way of data collection will be the basis. Therefore, data that are captured during a hospital stay due to myocardial infarction will be transferred to a database. The data obtained in this way are then used to answer clinical and epidemiological questions. The aim is to investigate the reasons for the still high burden of disease and mortality of myocardial infarction in Saxony-Anhalt and to improve patient care in a targeted manner.
