A broad thematic association for health science research and teaching was established at a medical faculty for the first time in Germany with the founding of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Health Sciences (Profil Zentrum Gesundheitswissenschaften, PZG) at the Medical Faculty of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg in 2013.
The PZG is a dynamic research, teaching and training institution for improving health on a regional, national and international level. The centre is committed to a comprehensive approach to public health and systematically brings together expertise dispersed across its institutions. The PZG brings together researchers and practitioners with expertise in general and occupational medicine, biometrics, epidemiology, history and ethics, health and nursing sciences, medical sociology and rehabilitation medicine, among others. This will strengthen interdisciplinary and cross-institutional collaboration in the health sciences.
The goal is to constitute and further develop a profile-forming research focus that contributes to the central challenges of our health-care system in the 21st century.
You can find the “Biannual Report 2020/2021" of the PZG here.
