Multivisceral Oncological Resections Involving the Pancreas - An International Multicenter Study
Objective
Complete resection is crucial for solid malignancies. Locally advanced cases may require multivisceral resection, introducing complexities and risks. This study addresses the impact of multivisceral oncological resections involving the pancreas on morbidity, mortality, and long-term survival across various tumor entities. The objective is to provide evidence-based recommendations and potentially establish an international study group.
Study Design
Retrospective multicenter study globally, analyzing elective multivisceral oncological resections involving the pancreas.
Inclusion and Exclusion Criteria
Consecutive patients from Jan 1, 2010, to Dec 31, 2022, undergoing elective multivisceral oncological resections involving the pancreas. Various patient and operation characteristics will be documented.
Objectives
Evaluate outcomes, determine factors associated with morbidity/mortality, overall survival, and disease-free survival.
Data Collection
Online survey for yearly case volumes and care standards. Online electronic case report form (REDCap®) for detailed data.
Ethics
Approval from the Ethics Committee of the University Hospital Halle (Saale), Germany was obtained.
Statistical Analysis
Exploratory study, appropriate statistical tests applied. Subgroup analyses for distinct tumor entities will be conducted.

Authorship And Publication Policy
Centers contributing at least 10 cases qualify for authorship. Those with 50 cases or more may have two authorship positions. Study coordinators and principal investigators acknowledged as senior authors. Dissemination involves all authors; each center retains ownership of its data.
